Idyllisches Häuschen im wunderschönen Olivenhain
Mein Mann und ich durften wunderbare Urlaubstage auf Kreta im traumhaften Haus von Johanna und ihrem Mann verbringen! Obwohl wir erst um Mitternacht ankamen, wurden wir herzlichst empfangen. Ganz besonders aufmerksam war, dass der Kühlschrank mit Wein, Wasser und anderen Köstlichkeiten befüllt war! Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet, der Garten und die Terrasse wunderbar zum Sitzen und Erholen. Wir haben die Ruhe sehr genossen! Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Maison authentique avec beaucoup de charme
Très belle maison pour un séjour en pleine nature au calme, rien de mieux pour se reposer. La vue de la terrasse est fantastique au coucher du soleil. La visite quotidienne des chiens et chats des propriétaires est très agréable. Johanna a été très gentille et disponible avec nous. Nous avons eu droit à quelques courses dès notre arrivée pour faire une salade grecque, du pain frais et du vin. Incroyable ! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Beautiful villa, brilliant trip!
We had a wonderful stay here. Johanna was helpful, responsive and kind in letting our daughter interact with the dogs. The villa is beautiful and was a highlight of our trip. It has lovely fittings and is set up with absolutely everything you need! The veggies, cheese, bread etc on arrival were much appreciated and the olive oil soooo delicious! There is plenty to see and do in the neighboring towns and the garden/rooftop are both lovely for relaxing before or after exploring for the day. Highly recommended!

Happy Love Nest
This is a very charming, well appointed and well located cottage that offers relative privacy, with owners close by for any assistance required. Much of Western Crete is easily accessible without feeling too close to tourist traps. As animal lovers we enjoyed regular visits from the owner’s cats and dogs! Ideal for couples looking to set up a great base to explore this glorious island

Wonderful off the beaten track nature stay
We selected the holiday house because we were searching for a place with a garden where our toddler could roam about safely. Location was not the first thing we looked at but actually we were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful region with lovely villages and wonderful nature. We got everything we hoped for and more. We were amazed by the natural diversity in the beautifully kept garden, the house was decorated with style and it was equipped with anything you need - even herbs, olive oil from the land, soap for the washing machine, toys for the kid, chargers etc. The bed linnen was amazing and we slept well in the cottage. Some nice sandy beaches are in good reach (by car) from the property so you can combine a hike with a dive or a village tour with a drink at the beach.

Perfect Anniversary
We had an amazing stay. If we come back to Crete we will be staying here again. We loved the home and the pets were so sweet. They even came by on our last morning to say good bye. Thank you for a great 25th anniversary!!

Fantastisches Urlaubsquartier
Sehr schönes Haus mit herrlichem Garten, Sonnenterrasse und traumhaften Blick in die Berge. Durch die etwas abgelegene Lage sehr ruhig. Die Inneneinrichtung ist funktional und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Gastgeberin Johanna ist sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit, beantwortet alle Fragen und hat für uns sogar einen Tisch in einer Taverne mit Livemusik reserviert. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Gegend, Wanderrouten und der Strand sind in 30-60 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Besonders schön sind die dörflichen Tavernen in der Gegend wo man noch keinen Touristennepp hat und gut kretisch essen kann. Wer im Urlaub seine Ruhe haben will und einfach mal ohne Menschenmassen ausspannen will ist hier genau richtig.

The Perfect Retreat
My husband and I loved our stay at Villa Oreastro! The interior is so warm and relaxing and the upstairs porch had stunning 360deg views with stunning sunsets. Johanna was so welcoming and even made us a reservation for us ahead of time at a local Greek taverna for Greek Easter lunch (best food I’ve ever had in my life!). And to top it all off, she has the cutest pups that come visit you everyday to say hello! We hope we can return to Crete for another stay in the future!

Viel Ruhe und Natur !
Häuschen , Terrassen und Garten sind schön und individuell gestaltet, vor allem die Küche ist sehr funktional UND stilvoll ausgestattet! Wer gerne kocht, wird begeistert sein von den frischen landwirtschaftlichen Produkten. Der selbst hergestellte Honig und das eigene Öl von Johanna und Rob sind eine Delikatesse !!! Da es im April abends und nachts noch sehr kühl sein kann, sollte man in der Lage sein, den Ofen richtig zu bedienen und genügend Feuerholz zur Verfügung haben. Die nähere Umgebung erlaubt viele abwechslungsreiche Wanderungen, die mit kurzer Anfahrt zu erreichen sind, z.B. durch Orangenplantagen entlang des Flusses Kiliarus. Empfehlen kann ich die sehr gut und frisch markierten Chania trails. Aber auch ab Haus kann man sehr schön wandern ! Die Blütenpracht und der ständige Blick auf die verschneiten lefka ori sind um diese Jahreszeit ein Traum ! Johanna und auch Rob sind herzliche Gastgeber. Man kann Kontakt haben, hat ( auch durch die Lage des Hauses ) aber auch seine Privatsphäre.

Himmel, Stille, duftende Natur im OlivenhainDas Haus liegt mitten in einem Olivenhain und dennoch in Fussnähe des Ortes. Es ist ist ebenso geschmackvoll wie hochwertig und durchdacht eingerichtet, perfekter Rückzugsort für Paare oder Eltern mit kleinem Kind. Es gibt einen Garten mit schattigen Sitzecken und eine Dachterrasse mit spektakulärem Blick auf schroffe Berge und Himmel. Wer Katzen & Hunde mag, hat schnell neue Freunde - die britischen Gastgeber wohnen nebenan und bemühen sich liebevoll, so viel (oder wenig) Tierkontakt zu ermöglichen, wie ihre Gäste wünschen. Gastgeberin Johanna Heath verwöhnt mit eigenen Eiern, Honig, vor allem aber Tipps und viel spannendem Wissen über Land & Menschen. Bade- und tauchmöglichkeiten 10 bis 20 Autominuten entfernt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Our highlights were the roof terrace with a view of the sunrise and sunset and the view of the LefkaOri,
the plants in the garden (a lovely cactus garden), the animals (3 dogs, 6 cats),
the quietness (Kefalas is far enough away, no immediate neighbours).
Johanna is attentive and at the same time reserved manner - contact is possible but you still have your privacy - but I can only highly recommend to talk to Johanna, because we owe the most beautiful places on Apokoronas and the best really Greek restaurants to her. She also knows much about the flowers in crete.
We will be back - for the fourth time (and again in spring), again for 3 weeks and we are already counting the days 🙂

We are still thinking of the wonderful time we spent in Chania/Kefalas and how blessed we are that we could live on Johannas beautiful property! We totally understand, why she and Rob decided, that they wanted to live there. The place is calm and a perfect hideaway for nature lovers. We fell in love with the house, her Dog Missy, the chicken, goose and „Babycat“ 😉 In addition Johanna gave us so many nice tipps about „where to go“ and was incredibly hospitable! <3 We felt like home and would absolutely book the flat again!

Johanna is a really super-host, very nice, attentive and helpful. The house was immaculate and very cozy. Johanna takes care of every last detail. Living among olive trees in the field has been an incredible experience that made our trip in Crete even better. Totally recommendable.

You will be surprised of this place and the surroundings. But most impressive is the luxurious tasteful furnishings and architectural solutions, the well-maintained outdoor complex, the botanic variety of the plants in the garden and the carefully kept pets. One feels that everything is designed with great love and enthusiasm and enormous respect for the local traditions. You should stay here for at least 1 week and then rent the large apartment. There from the great terrace in top of the roof you can watch the stars at night. Stay with Johanna !!! What she gives to you cannot be payed with money. The owners of the villa found their paradises on earth and you have the privilege to share it as long as you are allowed to be a guest.

Johannas place where a perfect countryside paradise where me and my spouse loved to escape our everyday life. The house had spectacular view to the mountains and at night we would look at the stars. Johanna welcomed us with a great hospitality and gave us good tips about the villages nearby. The animals at the yard where entertaining for us. We already miss this place and definitely would recommend it.

We stayed in Johanna's place for four days and it was a great place to explore the area. The recently renovated studio had everything we needed and is located in a beautiful olive grove . The communication with Johanna was very easy and her tips were very helpful to move around Kefalas.

Joanna`s place is just amazing! A little peace of paradise. The appartment is beautifuly furnished. It has no air conditioner but you really don't need one at all. We were there in August and the weather cooled down every night, apart from that the thick stone walls prevented the heat from entering the building. The garden is just beautiful with a lot of olive and walnut trees, chickens, geese and an adorable little dog. Joanna was really friendly and provided us with alot of useful information about places to go, restaurants and nearby beaches. Joanna provided us with her own olive oil, walnuts, honey and eggs which was a very pleasant surprise. Dear Joanna, we really enjoyed staying at your place. Thank you for everything! All the best:-)

Wonderfull place between a lot of Olive trees. The house is very cosy, we had linnen bedsheets. Nice clean towels and some welcome gifts such as olive oil from her own trees. We recommand this place highly when you want to feel the peacefullness of crete. Also Johanna is a very kind hostess and she knows a lot of nice places to go nearby.

The studio is on a wonderful location, a bit outside the centre. Lots of animals around the house like chickens, dogs, cats. Johanna is a great host, communication went wel and she told us some places to go to. Fresh eggs! At the quit square some good tavernas, definitly recommend the place!

What can I say! Jo & Rob are awesome. The most accommodating and lovely people you could ever wish to meet. This beautiful stone house is set in the most stunning location surrounded by olive trees, flora and the occasional chicken roaming in the garden. This place is a little piece of paradise and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. Try to go on the foraging morning and lunch if you can. It’s a very special experience indeed. This is a must stay if you are thinking of visiting this region, but book early x Thanks once again Jo & Rob x

Erholsame Woche in schönem, geschmackvoll eingerichtetem Landhaus!
Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche dort verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir haben sehr gut in dem breiten Bett geschlafen. Das Bad ist mit einer Regendusche versehen. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Im Kühlschrank fanden wir frische Eier (von Johannas eigenen Hühnern), Joghurt, Honig , Walnüsse und Wein . Eine Terrasse direkt hinter dem Haus auf der man wunderbar frühstücken kann und zum Sonnenbaden eine auf dem Dach! Johanna ist eine ganz phantastische Vermieterin, die uns wertvolle Tipps zu Restaurants, Musikveranstaltungen und Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung gegeben hat. Wir waren rundum zufrieden!

Eine der wenigen Unterkünfte, die ich auf Reisen hatte, bei der Eindruck, der durch Beschreibung und der Bilder vermittelt wird, absolut stimmt und eher noch übertroffen wird. Liebevoll eingerichtet, perfekt ausgerichtet, tolle Dachterrasse, nette Tiere, noch nettere Vermieter. Fahren Sie hin (aber bitte nicht dann, wenn ich selber wieder hin möchte). Nur zu empfehlen!
